Question me this...

BLUF: If the bill congress is voting on is about giving money to automakers to keep them from bankruptcy then how come this verbiage is found in section 19?
(Sec. 19) Authorizes a salary adjustment during FY2009 for justices and judges of the United States.
Sets forth guidelines for application of the antitrust laws and antitrust agency participation in proceedings of the automakers.
What does a salary adjustment next year, for judges, have to do with the success of the auto industry?
Does this mean if a justice or judge has to work on the legalese of this bill being put into real action then they get an automatic tip?
I’m not for or against proper compensation for judges (Or anyone whose doing their job) I just think it’s a completely unrelated issue. Please someone tell me if I’m wrong.
Time for an Article V Convention to force a ONE BILL ONE TOPIC agenda IMO.

Hey there David!
I believe there is a Universal Law about Bills going thru Congress… for every 10 sections in a bill there must be 2 sections of pork spending and 1 section to pay a government official.
You could call it Smilemaker’s Law instead of Murphy’s Law if you like!
I like Smilemaker’s Law… and ain’t it the truth.
Are you familiar with Jim Hightower? I love his recap of the whole bailout.
Still hopeful and trying to direct anger in a solutionatory way.
Blessings, David
I’d not heard of Jim Hightower but I did read the article and the picture of the sinking middle class on the Titanic whilst the CEO’s and their network of ‘friends’ take the only lifeboat out of the mess… good analogy.
Gone are the days when you could work a job for 30 years and expect a pension and a paid off mortgage at the end of it all… I’m glad for that by the way. The thought of working at the chicken factory for more then the 10 years I did sort of makes me feel ill. There is much more freedom in being able to ‘try on’ jobs until you find one that fits instead of fitting yourself into a job because it is the one that will allow you to use the hospital when you need it.
Oh, I was supposed to tell you if you were wrong about all this, I see… well, from my perspective the only thing you got wrong was by not adding that the people who mismanage an industry into financial ruin ought to have to live at the factory and work for the same wage the rest of the employees are making until they bring the ship around or bring in enough lifeboats for everyone!
Smiles!

As usual we’re thinking each others thoughts. I like that!
