25 things about me...

Posted on Dec 17th, 2008 by HeyOK : Bridgebuilder HeyOK

25 things about me:  photo from here.

It’s not a TAG game if you don’t want it to be…

Started for me by Melissa

Bridgebuilder right?

Though maybe tagging 25 folks to tell you something about themselves you might not yet know is worth the effort of putting 25 things about yourself in print.

1)      1)  As my friends on various sites will attest I hate tag games with a passion and yet I like talking about myself…  hmmmm.  Thus I’m not tagging anyone just taking an opportunity to share.

2)  I   2)  I still can’t believe the offerings of sites like – Zaadz (now Gaia), VOX, Multiply, have been “outmembered” by Facebook – even with the application process.  Oh well.  I’m looking for a way to keep connections while deployed in Iraq and a good start is to go where the people are.  Though my ZNG friends get the first nod and cyberhugs.  There’s always enough cyberhugs to go around.  Can I even link to my sisters comment regarding “I’m glad you took a step back” to stay in touch??  Guess not.

3)        3)  I went to Seminary prep for H.S.  Crosier in Onamia.  At the time I wanted to be a priest forever and ever.  I was so skinny I could lay spread eagle under the covers and an unobservant eye would miss the fact a person was in the bed.  This was proved by several friends being surprised/scared and once junior year I successfully avoided a dorm search while skipping class by doing this.

4)        4)  I’m generally ambivalent about life and living and think that’s a pretty good way to approach things.  Too deal with this I laugh a lot; at myself, others, or pretty much anything.

5)       5)  I felt bad that that my first reaction to my current President getting shoes thrown at him was a sense of glee.  Why?  What have we come too?   What have I come too?  I’m only slightly sorry to hear that Dana got a black eye in the melee that followed.

6)       6)  I still would like to add up how many people I’ve met, befriended, and forgotten between the Army training, Andrew, working a hospital psych unit, and various other interests.  Honestly how many people can a person meet in a lifetime?  No wonder I have to work so hard to remember names.

7)      7)  I think what was Simon’s Delivers and is now Coborns Delivers is the best thing since sliced bread (and that’s not because I don’t own a car – ‘cause Herman ROCKS!).  I swear I dreamt the grocery delivery idea some years ago and then someone stole my dream.

8)      8)  I think if the Constitution of the United States says an Article V is legal it should have happened a long time ago.

9)      9)  I think “tagging” and the possibilities of new search engines are slowly making anything I saw growing up on Star Trek a reality right here and now.  Beam me up…

10)    10)  I think being a member in a CSA farm is the only way to goooooo…. Supplement that with a local coop and farmers market of course.  Anyone want to take over and hold my membership while I’m gone next year?  I still often ponder the possibility of making a living growing veggies and throwing pottery.

11)   11) I wonder why the Senate Ethics Committee has not hurried to put out a verdict on the investigations Senator Norm Coleman is currently undergoing despite the ongoing ballot race.  Okay I see that info should have been shared before we all voted.  My bad!  Now the info might just get people all in a muddle after the fact….

12)   12) I think during interactions I may come off like “I KNOW…” sometimes and don’t mean too.  I want discussion and viewpoints.  I can listen too and learn quite a bit when I do.  While listening recently I found that my beloved did not know GEN Powells son was in charge of the FCC not so long ago and he made a few questionable changes.

13)   13)  I’ve been reading my old journals – to see where I’ve been and what brought me here.  I must have watched Oprah a lot.  Though I never mention her, the entries are replete with gratitude for the gazillion blessings I’ve encountered.

14)   14)  I have an agate in my pocket I’ve carried for many years.  It’ll travel to Iraq with me and back.

15)   15)  I look forward to making more music, pottery, and growing more flowers.  I look forward to more smiles from friends.

16)   16)  I pretty much agree with the view Sam Harris presents to the world in his book here.

17)   17)  I’m super duper happy with my new computer yet agitated that it doesn’t automatically do the things my old computer did only faster.

18)   18)  I’ve recently been a victim of identity theft and in dealing with it found, IMO, that the current system not only allows but also encourages this to happen.

19)   19)  I’m still tracking how to have my Organic American Spirits sent to me while I’m overseas.

20)   20)  I think the billboard on HWY 10 outside of Little Falls for Crazy Jim’s is horrible.  “Crazy Jim’s Army Surplus… our prices are so low you’ll think we’re insane.”  Why not say – Retarded Jim’s Army Surplus…  we’re too stupid to charge more.

21)   21)  I am so thankful for the group of friends who has agreed to watch and take care of business for me while I’m gone.

22)   22)  So thankful I’m almost to the end of the 25…

23)   23)  I will put more extraneous info on my FB profile someday

24)   24)  I’m trying to figure out the nuisances of interacting in cyberspace with people you deal with day to day.

25)   25)  I’m happy to see the number 25 --- that’s all.  Blessings, David

Multiple perspectives from multiple people yet the FACT is somebody is dealing with something somewhat like this right now.

He may have only scratched the tip of the iceberg yet I Thank him for at scratching it.

Question me this...

12 5 08 Bearman Cartoon Big Three Auto Bailout by Bearman2007.
Cartoon from Bearman on Flickr  - Creative Commons

BLUF:  If the bill congress is voting on is about giving money to automakers to keep them from bankruptcy then how come this verbiage is found in section 19?

(Sec. 19) Authorizes a salary adjustment during FY2009 for justices and judges of the United States.

Sets forth guidelines for application of the antitrust laws and antitrust agency participation in proceedings of the automakers.

What does a salary adjustment next year, for judges, have to do with the success of the auto industry?

Does this mean if a justice or judge has to work on the legalese of this bill being put into real action then they get an automatic tip?

I’m not for or against proper compensation for judges (Or anyone whose doing their job) I just think it’s a completely unrelated issue.  Please someone tell me if I’m wrong.

Time for an Article V Convention to force a ONE BILL ONE TOPIC agenda IMO.
