HeyOK
Actually only have a small time today to catch up with the site --- it's changed a lot (as foretold) in the past week. Regarding seeds... I see a seeds sown to date 57, 608 banner today and after looking around to find member numbers I found 150,431.
Still not sold on the "seeds" thing (no slam to Jake who I know worked hard on this).
Quick math... that's very few seeds used per member. Is the little link in the seeds sown how the word is getting out? It takes me time to seed and let the page refresh. Not even Gaia can give me more time in any given day.
Should I keep trying to play this "token economy game" or ignore it and go for what has proven itself... connection with real people, with real ideas.
Just a ponder on my part.
Blessings, David

Help

It isn’t the seeds that is the contoversy today..it is the terms of service which are stating Gaia owns anything on your site including pictures you post, even if you leave..
We knew there might be these issues when zaadz was sold in August..and many are ready to boycott..
Love and hugs

Hi David,
“connection with real people, with real ideas” has my vote. :)
Blessings,

Good talk about seeds. I just had an idea to improve the seeds system:
Show us three seed counts in our seed box under our profile photo:
1. The total number of seeds we have earned by posting, blogging, commenting, etc.
2. The total number of seeds that have been given to us by others.
3. The total number of seeds we have given to others.
This would give us a better understanding how seeds reflect our contributions, and how others perceive our work.
I like those ideas, Jordan! I also liked an idea by Amazume/Nell. She thought that the seeds should be called zaadz instead. So here goes!
I want the zaadz that I drop on a blog I like to be dropped 5 at once or a choice of how many I drop! It sucks to drop one zaad at a time, each time I click, “I liked it” I have to wait until it counts to ooooonnnnnnneeeeee…………. then I have to click again 4 more times! Has anyone else besides David and I noticed this annoyance or am I just on dial up?! ~grin~
I was under the impression that we have 58,621 members not zaadz dropped on our heads. I guess that I wasn't correct on this? I'm sure that we must have many more G Zaadz members then that but hey, I was excited to see the number go up instead of down as members exit stage left… silly Gaia and the rights to use our materials! They'll get it straightened out I'm sure! Please don't leave me yet! I like the purple, lavendar, and gold!
I like dropping zaadz on my friends and strangers heads! I find it amusing! I imagine plunk, plunk, plunk, plunk, plunk like acorns. My zaadz aren't small carrot ones! Mine want to grow into oak trees, with roots big enough to take out sidewalks and sewer systems! When I drop a zaad but you can't see the evidence that I dropped one on you, does it still leave a mark?! giggle… ask David Bridgebuilder. I've dropped many a virtual zaad on his head! He might look a bit beat up!
David, please allow me my zaadz system! It gives me great happiness to drop zaadz all over this G Zaadz site and if it were taken away from me I might feel unsmiley. Then my Life's Purpose would suffer greatly. Zaadz dropping is therapy like throwing snowballs!
Whoops! You caught me in a ramble! 1 hour of sleep then a 12 hour day will do that to one! I'd better lay off the Chai tea!
Zaadzing away… so that's what that noise was.
Oh this experiment (and I mean, Zaadz, seeds, life, self improvement - all of it) does have wonderful plot twists to it!
Grateful to be in wonderful company!
Blessings, David
Amber.. great idea on being able to immediately choose how many seeds to drop on a blog. I too find it very time consuming ( esp these days, it's so slow…) to do multiple clicks. How about putting your idea on the ThinkTank pod in the Trust System board? Unless there is a more visible place these days? (I'm sorry, I'd put links to those pages, but I'm in computer mud right now).
David - I think we should see the seeds do a huge jump now we can seed comments on pods. This was only implemented a couple of days ago when we turned into Gaia. I also think we should be able to seed comments on blogs, but .. not so far.
Personally I feel its a good idea to 'play the game' as I intuit that the seeds are one day going to stand for far more than what they are now - I don't know exactly what but something. And, I'd like to give the system a chance to see if it is working…. I've been checking out the What's Hot page ( now Community Picks under the Explore tab), and at least the last week before Gaia was born, it did not look that good to me - ie. the items did not signify really valuable discussions, and I'm not sure what algorithm is being used to display those items at the moment ( it used to be time/quantity of comments, and was going to be according to seeds).
Hugs,
Sandra
I dropped a hint at Think Tank Sandra! You know, an acorn sized zaad! I only asked that I'd like the seeds to be renamed zaadz. You, bless you, put in the word about the seed amount drop box instead of that silly, Oh my goodness, do you know that you're spending one whole ZAAD on this blog you love?” thing that we have to then click, “yes, I'm a responsible zaad dropper and know that I'm dropping a zaad on this blog”. Yes, that's a very clunky box we have to deal with!
David's blog was at the top of the “What's Hot' blog list tonight! Something must be working correctly with the zaadz! I only wish that the blog that was picked had been the one with the picture of (David himself?) a winter soldier face down butt up in the snow! That one was a favorite of mine! I imagined it was David but he doesn't admit to it so I just suggest it here so as to plant the 'zaad'! ~grin~ Laughing Hystercally apologies David! Hee!
Sigh, I have the best of friends here. If only they can put up with me!
Smiles!
Oh wow… Acorns grow into OAK trees ya know!!!
Side note… the only reason my name isn't literally attached to this photo (or one very, very similar) is because no one happened to have a camera at the time; I did the EXACT Same thing. I deny nothing - And I've been there.
This isn't me either AND I did that… AND (eeegads) probably will again in just a few weeks. Brrrrrrr.
This trip too Norway sounds colder by the byte… I turning my thermostat up!
Blessings and Zmiles all!
David
Yep! It's all about acorn zaadz growing up to wreck havoc on the sidewalks and sewer systems! Pulling up the urban jungle so to speak!
What is is with extreme cold and snow that makes a person want to take off their clothes and drop face down into a blistering cold bank of the white stuff?! Have we really evolved? I think NOT! giggle! I loved those pictures! Silly peeps! Frozen brain cells in action. Yes, I'm sure you'll be silly as a frozen goose over there! Take lots of pictures! This will be the best blog fodder EVER!
