Talking with Mom: Sex education – confusion
Grandma agreed to watch the kids for the day. They were outside playing with the neighbor kids when suddenly Johnny rushed in to ask, “Grandma, what’s it’s called when two people sleep on top of each other in the bedroom?”
Good lord thought Grandma… I wasn’t expecting this. I can’t lie to the boy – today’s world is so different from when I grew up. So she says, “Well it’s called sex and if you need more information than that I’ll let your Mom and Dad know so you can have a talk about it.”
Grandma made a mental note to tell her daughter-in-law about the interaction and then went on with her day.
The children came in for lunch awhile later and during the meal Jimmy said, looking very serious, “Grandma I think you lied to me. It’s called bunk beds; and Bobby’s mom wants you to call her.”
This is the joke my mom relayed on the phone today. LOL. This then led into a talk about our upbringings and how sex education was handled. She said she had three kids and was still joking with her mom (my grandma) about the “sex books” she was supposed to get so she knew what was going on. I said I received the best sex education in high school (in the seminary – go figure).
We laughed over various folks misunderstandings and interpretations…
I recalled a time in college when my parents were both using the word “dildo”. “Oh you big dildo”, they’d say. I thought it was odd and possibly inappropriate, yet whatever. Then a few months later Mom asks me, “David do you know what a dildo is?”
I respond, “Umm, (gulp) yeah – it’s like a sexual device.” My Mom hit me on the arm and said, “Then why didn’t you tell your dad and I that when we were saying it???”
“Well I thought you knew”
Life’s funny huh?

Help

LOL…great!
Here's my Grandma's instructions for a bath:
First you start at the top and was down as far as possible.
Then, you start from the bottom, and wash up as far as possible.
Then, you wash possible.
Possible, it's such a loaded word.
Ha ha !
FANTASTIC!
I shall certainly be relaying this to my inner circle.
Cheers!
